"end of the road"

its a long way home at the end of the road, ill be pavin my own way,at the top ill be here to stay,so take my name, remember this face, keep the change and have a nice day,and live for the moment not by the past, homie live each day like its your last.

all my life,i couldn't fit in like a bad shoe,i was always to square,to cube,to short,to weird to blue, forget them high skoo hotties now i'm too cool,i guess i came a long way from that young kid,the most popular lame,no friends,no style,no clothes,no ends, just a bed fell asleep and never woke up again, yeah, and my last prayer was don't ever let me end up like the people thats down here cause the one that fear change be the ones that don't care, just look at themselves and see somebody else in the mirror but,u can always pick me out of the crowd loud mouth with my very own style, cause what i kno now is don't ever pretend and live every single day like u wont see it again, gone.

so take my name, remember this face, keep the change and have a nice day,and live for the moment not by the past, homie live each day like its your last.
and if you've only got 24 hours and 1400 minute before your dreams gone then you better go live it,cause everything you love could be taken away so live like its you dying day.

i dedicate this to my teachers that never believed in me and a mother that conceived but ended up leaving me,i just wish that yall could see me smile, this big grins on the t.v now,uh,and i took it from the bottom to the top, from the holes in my socks, ramen noodles in the pot,use to rob em on the block, now they spot me in the drop, middle finger up and that ain't gone stop,i used to take orders and now i make bets,i used to scrub floors and now i sign checks,i used to push carts, now i push songs, yeah,i used to be there now i am so gone,i'm fine myself, found a job myself, established myself then i signed myself, and what i tell myself is you did this by yourself and when i'm on so long i'll be by myself,im gone,

so take my name, remember this face, keep the change and have a nice day,and live for the moment not by the past, homie live each day like its your last.
and if you've only got 24 hours and 1400 minute before your dreams gone then you better go live it,cause everything you love could be taken away so live like its you dying day.

and i wish i could see their faces when they heard your boy spittin, wish i could know what they were thinkin when they heard my first hit, cause i remember them wishin that i wouldn't get big,now i bet they wishin they wouldn't have said that shit,i came out from a dying city brought back life, everything they said i couldn't do i did bout twice, multiply that by the bottles that we popped each night, that equals out to a celebration b-tches more ice, make a toast to the underdogs toast to the team, toast to the fact we this close to the dream, pour one for my exes, used to talk reckless, but now i push benz's and rock rolex's,came from the city and until they come and get me,turn around and see the whole east side still with me,and thats how we livin,ya man don't change, still a kid still cant tell me a god damn thang,

so take my name, remember this face, keep the change and have a nice day,and live for the moment not by the past, homie live each day like its your last.
and if you've only got 24 hours and 1400 minute before your dreams gone then you better go live it,cause everything you love could be taken away so live like its you dying day.

its a long way home at the end of the road, ill be pavin my own way,at the top ill be here to stay,so take my name, remember this face, keep the change and have a nice day,and live for the moment not by the past, homie live each day like its your last.

I’M GOING TO BE...         Andrew Bandabaila

I'm going to be who I say I am going to be.
I'm going to be a sophisticated man.

I come from a family of ten.
My family is very concerning and protective.
I have always been told that I am a polite boy.
I value my life and family.
I stand for my rights.

I'm going to be who I say I'm going to be.
I'm going to be a leader.

My strengths are being creative and being able to focus very quick on something I know that I need to do good in.
My friends have a sense of humor.
I believe in hard work and that you cannot be lazy in this world.
The best advice I ever had is to do good in life for myself and nobody else.
I hope that I will be able to live my life to the fullest.

I'm going to be who I say I am going to be.
I'm going to be a good example.

The rhythm I listen to is hip-hop.
UPA taught me to try my hardest not to get in trouble.
I will fight for my rights and my family.
I want to remember all of my past and present classmates and also my old ones.
I dream that i will become a big time lawyers that makes $200+ per hour.
I'm going to be who I say I am going to be.
I'm going to be a proud man.
    MY PARENTS    ANDREW BANDABAILA

My parents are very loving and protective people. They are very concerned about how I am doing in school and what I am doing outside of school.I really appreciate everything my parents have been doing for me over the years because if they didn’t care for me life will be very hard for me.I really do need their punishments because if i didn't have them i would not care about anything or have any respect for anyone.I feel that most people like to pick on me but my parents tell me that I cant let that get in my way.

My parents seem annoying to me but when I really look at it they are just looking out for me.Sometimes I wish they would just not talk to me anymore but when I think about it that wouldn't help me at all.I just really appreciate everything my parents do for me even if they don't know that I do.

                                                                                                                                                   PERIOD 5

SUFFRAGE

Suffrage has changed a lot when you compare things to how they used to be.Suffrage was very bad a long time ago. Blacks did not get the treatment they deserved. They deserved to be treated like regular people and not like animals.Women were also mistreated.Women were turned down from having the same obligations as men had.In the book kindred by Octavia butler, her main point is that slaves needed to fight back and become free. Some slaves stopped listening to their masters so that they could become free.

We can see examples of this change in women’s roles throughout history. In 1642 it was required for a man living in Massachusetts colony to lead his family in prayer and catechism. One way suffrage has changed overtime is before women were not allowed to vote but now they are able to.They also were not able to run for anything in the political branch but now they can.In 1910 Washington had become the first state to let women vote and six years later the first birth control clinic was opened by Margaret Sanger,an active feminist. Some of the slaves were fed up and so they wrote their own passes to freedom.others who were too scared to do that just married white people.

Another example of suffrage is how racism has changed over the years. Before you would be able to kill a black person and not get much of a punishment for it.If a black person were to kill a white they would probably be killed.Blacks were called monkeys and were not shown any respect.People need to recognize each other in a positive way.Slaves did not like being treated this way so they rebelled against their masters and escaped.

A long time ago people suffered by not having sanitized places and that got them sick. They died when they were ill because they did not have any medication to cure themselves. Now we have toilets, showers, electricity, laundry utensils, and technology has improved modern living. Now we have well educated doctors and dentist that know what they are doing. In the wars when a person was wounded they would just saw off their limbs without any morphine. They would tie up the person and put a stick in their mouth so there wouldn’t be any yelling. The world didn’t have a lot  access to food and water. It was also very hard to have fast transportation. Some of the slaves educated themselves and one another so they could write papers to people who could probably help stop slavery.

In conclusion, a lot has changed for the better over the decades. Now blacks are treated like regular people but are feared because of things they hear about them.Women are able to do the same type of work that men are allowed to do.Now we have sanitized places and cleaning supplies. We have college educated doctors, nurses, and dentist.I am very thankful that I don’t have a good healthy life and do not have to go through what many other people had to witness or be apart of.Some slaves that were very upset at their owners murdered them and others joined the army which was their way out of slavery.

                MASK POEM

Do I wear the mask or do I let it wear me?
Do it tie me down, down to the ground?
I wear the mask that shows me,the real me.
The sometimes upset but really friendly.
Or the really shy but sneaky me.
I need everyone's  help.
To help me live and enjoy this lifetime.I don't like to be alone.
Alone is like being trapped in a pine cone.
Of all my family that has died I sometimes feel alone.
So i greed my friends and family.

DAY OF THE DEAD

                                                          DAY OF THE DEAD

Grandpa,
I don't know much about you but i do know some great facts about you.
You died of kidney failure and I don't want to know what it was like.If you were to come back to life would you still wear your favorite hats or wear your favorite blue pajamas? What kinds of jokes would you tell and do you still believe that the effects in the movie "ROCKY" were real?We all miss you dearly...Do you miss you wife, kids, and grand kids?I remember how you loved to eat your fried fish that your daughter(my mother) would make for you.If you ever came back would you tell me to sit on your lap and share some with me..?
